This trip will take us to the five countries known as Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England. Each portion of the trip has its own distinct character and cultural, as you will experience as we travel around the area.
We will be traveling by train, bus, van, ferry, and plane for this journey.
Day 1- we will depart MSP heading to DUB
Day 2-After arriving in DUB we will head immediately to BEL for our first night in Northern Ireland.
Day 3- Belfast is the city in which the Titanic was constructed. We will go to the actual locks from which the ship was built and led into the ocean for its voyage. There are many other sights to see in this beautiful city, which we will see on a hop on hop off tour.
Day 4-This morning we will leave Bel behind us and head to Scotland and the city of Edinburgh. Our first stop will the famous Edinburgh Castle.
Day 5 today we will explore Scotland further by heading north through the fishing villages along the coast ending up in St Andrews, homeland of golf.
Day 6-Today we will leave Waverly Station and head to York, home of the National Rail Museum. After spending some time there we will continue on to London for the evening.
Day 7- Today we will see all the sights we can within London City by using the subway system near to our hotel and walking to all the famous sights that we have heard about through the years.
Day 8- We will now spend a day in the outskirts of London by visiting the city of Bath, Windsor Castle, and Stonehenge. This will be a relaxing bus ride day with three stops with enough time to see the sights.
Day 9- We now will leave London behind us and head to Holyhead, Wales for an overnight.
Day 10-This morning we take a ferry from Holyhead back to Dublin and continue on to the city of Kilkenny for our overnight. Kilkenny has a wonderful castle to explore, but it also has some of the best nightlife in Ireland. We will spend the night here to allow you time to experience this aspect of life.
Day 11- We now will return to Dublin to catch the rail for the remaining portions of our journey. You may have time to go have a Guinness if you are interested.
Day 12-We will travel through the horse rearing area of Ireland going to Kildare, Killarney, Cork, Blarney Castle, and finally to Cobh, home of the last port of call of the Titantic. There is a nice museum here which gives the in- depth details of the voyage.
Day 13-Most of our day today will be traveling the famous Ring of Kerry.
Day 14- This day will take us to Limerick, the Cliffs of Mohr, Galway, and Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. Galway is a great place to stay overnight with street entertainers of a wide variety. Galway has a Bohemian flavor that is typical of the western coast of Ireland psyche, laid back, relaxed, and ready to party.
Day 15-One of the more relaxing and interesting stops will be on the Aran Islands. Perhaps you will want to pick up an authentic Aran Island sweater for yourself.
Day 16-Today we visit the Connemara area, Kylemore Castle and Gardens, and return to Dublin for the overnight.
Day 16- One last trip to the north takes us back to Belfast (but not to the city this time), to see the Giant’s Causeway and Dunluce Castle with a drive along Atrium Coast.
Day 17- Today we will return home with lots of memories.
